early out

I was subbing for 3rd grade today and they got out early! Yay!

I kept it a big fat secret from the kids all morning, but when they came in from lunch they had heard and went completely crazy.

Like screaming and yelling all over the place.

I let them go for a few minutes, thinking it would wear off, then they wouldn't stop. I had to yell at the top of my lungs to get them quieted and looking at me and even then there were a few who kept getting out indoor recess stuff and moving about the room!

The next few minutes were not pretty. They lost 5 minutes of recess tomorrow, which I hope hope hope they're able to earn back {I'm there again!}. I felt like I was a little hard on them, so I'm going to give them kind of another chance -- an earn back chance.

They were awesome all morning and then completely lost it...that's why you don't share that kind of news until the very last possible second!

We'll see how it goes tomorrow :0D
