craftroom pegboard

We've got projects happening all over the place here! Thankfully, Ryan had off this weekend and was able to finish up a few things we had started!

I think I said this before, but we did some room switching upstairs and now the guest room is the guest room/office/craft room :) Multipurposing at its finest. 

Because there's a lot going on in this room, I wanted some pegboard to keep my craft supplies handy, together, and lookin' good! When I was trying to figure out exactly what I wanted, I went on pinterest for "craft room pegboard" ideas and my brain practically exploded. Pinterest is ridiculous. 

SO.MANY.IDEAS.

I showed Ryan what I wanted and he so kindly delivered {with Keaton's help}. It took him an afternoon to complete, which included buying the supplies. We already had the trim, so we basically just needed to get the board ($20} and strips of wood {$5} to attach it to the wall. 

I pretty much LOVE IT!

The rainbow thread doesn't hurt ;0)

 This board is 5' W x 3' H

 And holds all my go-to supplies just perfectly!
The buckets and chicken wire basket are from Target dollar spot {except I think the basket was $3}.

I got a few hooks at Home Depot, but ended up ordering a pack from amazon for only $10. It takes a lot of hooks to get all that stuff up there!

Soooo thankful for a handy hubby!! 

keaton's easter bucket

I know - Easter has been over for a weeks now BUT....I finally got around to making Keaton's Easter bucket and am excited to share it!

I thought about making him one a few weeks before he was due to arrive, just in case if he was here for Easter he should have something for all his goodies ;0)

Thankfully, he waited till a few days after Easter because it just got done! Funny thing is, it only took me about 15 minutes to actually make and put together! HA! Figuring out the design using my Silhouette Cameo and finding the bucket took the most time.

Do you know how hard it is to find a large, plain metal bucket? I looked at a ton of stores and then ended up ordering one from the Bucket Outlet {hehe}. Target had some small ones, but they just seemed SO small. 

The one I ordered is 10 quart = big! I'll fill the bottom with Easter grass if I really need to :0P  

For right now, it's in Keaton's closet with some of his soon-to-be favorite stuffed animals.

Can't wait to celebrate Easter with our big boy next year!  

mini-ironing table

Another end of summer project! 

I was determined to get a few projects done before school started and within a few days I had them all done - ha! Kinda got on a roll!

My mom got me onto the idea of making a mini ironing table for my craft room. She made one first and I copied. I'm mildly creative, but I usually just steal ideas off other people {if you haven't noticed.}

I bought a plan tray table at Wal-mart for around $10.

Stapled on 2 layers of polyester batting & then covered and stapled it with an upholstery fabric. I had the batting and fabric leftover, so all I bought was the tray table. The hardest part was digging through all the junk in our garage to find the staple gun!! 

I even emailed Ryan at work to see if he knew where the item was that made staples go into things really fast and hard was and he had no idea what I was talking about - I didn't want to us the word "gun" in an email to a nuclear power plant! We eventually got it straight....right after I found it on my own!

I used to have a big ironing board up all the time and it just too up so much room! This is perfect!

I love how I can even slide it under my long table :)

pottery barn giant ruler knock off

When I saw these Pottery Barn growth chart rulers I fell in love! What I wasn't loving, however, was the price! Oh vey! $89 just seemed like a lot. 

I had seen someone post about getting one at Kirkland's for half the price and was just about the click "buy" online when I thought....I have to be able to make this myself!

Thankfully, so did 517 Creations! She had the best tutorial and I shamelessly copied every single bit of it! 

My dear friend, Jess, came over for a craft night and we made ours together. Between talking, eating dinner, and more talking I kinda lost track of how long it took us to make ;) 

I bought and stained the boards the day before, so when she came over we could get started on marking them right away. I bought the boards and stain at Home Depot. The boards were about $6 a piece.

I stained 3 boards - one for Jess, me, and a back-up in case we needed it. Ours ended up great, so I used the 3rd to make one for my sister! 

Making the marks was easy! We had the iPad close by to double check our every step :)  Jess was the brave one who marked first...we must have measured it 15x. 

I just love love LOVE how it turned out!

Ryan added a saw tooth picture hanging hook on the back and got it hung up at just the right height. Thanks honey!

Can't wait to start measuring our kiddos!!
