When we moved into our house a year ago we had a back door, but that's it. No deck. No stairs. No patio. A door to nowhere :)
We were so excited to get both over the last couple of months. Thankfully, we planned ahead a little bit and realized that if we wanted a patio by the basement doors, we'd have to do it before the deck.
So we did and I'm so glad! I love the patio space....even with the temp dropping ;0)
There's lots of pics of the progress from fresh brand new green grass to finished product.....
Basement slider door on the bottom left
After the first excavation -- all that grass grew back and then this happened....
Ha ha -- all gone again! Hole for patio.
Framing is up!
The curved end was the cement guy's idea -- love it!
Right after the pour and before any sealant.
We needed a small retaining wall along the back and side.
It's so hard to pick all the materials out separately. We just prayed they all went together in the end!!
Very pleased :)
The patio had to cure {sp?} for a month and then the retaining wall and deck could be put up.
Finished! We LOVE how it turned out!

Notice the french doors?? Yeah, Ryan installed those...himself. His Dad is in a wheelchair and couldn't get it through the slider, so we switched them out! He finally got to see our basement about a week ago!
Ryan thinks that back corner is the perfect spot for a hot tub. Ha!
Feeling so blessed by being able to do this big project!
