dining room: before & after AND breakfast nook

My first time linking up to Kelly's Korner!

We've been in our home for just over a year! It's a lot of work painting, decorating, and getting settled into a brand new home but I have loved every.moment. of it! We're so blessed and I have zero complaints!

Here's our dining room before {view from foyer}: white and drab

Before {view from front door area}

After

After: my husband did all the trim work himself

After {view from kitchen/hallway}

I feel so blessed that my honey is handy! I painted and picked out the decor, but he's responsible for everything else!!

And just for fun I added our breakfast nook {maybe she'll have a separate post for these later or she has already had this post?!?}

Before: these flowers are currently back on the table :0D

After: paint, curtains, rug, wall decor....they make a world of difference!

The giant spoon and fork were in my Christmas stocking this year :) hehe!

We're thinking about adding some trim to this area -- ideas? Just chair rail? Bead board?

Can't wait to see everyone else's spaces for inspiration!

You are so lucky to have a "handy" husband. The moldings in the dining room look amazing. Love the blue color also! Beautful job! Susie

You are very blessed to have a handy hubby! At least my dad is. Haha everything looks great! On the dish towel I used wonder under on all the flags do they are ironed down but I just sewed thru the tops of them. I imagine after a wash and dry that they will come loose and curl up a bit but I'm fine with that.

love it! such a pretty color blue. i would say if you plan on having kids in this house, chair rail isnt the best to keep clean with toddlers splashing spaghetti on the walls. lol

I love the blue colour. And the trim too. So beautiful.

As you can tell I'm a few weeks behind on my blog reading :)
