cleaned and cut

I'd been putting off cleaning our downstairs carpet for about a year and a half.

I remember the carpet cleaning process my Mom used to go through when I was growing up and simply didn't want to do it! She rented a carpet cleaner, moved all the furniture to another room, cleaned it with the beast machine, and then no one was allowed on it for several days so it could thoroughly dry. THEN, she would move all the furniture back {along with another set} and clean the next room.

It usually lasted somewhere along the lines of 1 week.

Little did I know.....now there are tons of companies that aren't only happy as clams to clean your carpets {in about 45min - 1hr}, but they'll move the furniture for you and it dries in about 2hrs!!

Oh my goodness! I called to make an apt. on Friday. They came Monday at 11am on. the. dot. {just like they said} and were gone by noon. The whole process took about 1hour and no more than me lifting up my phone and handing over my visa.

Seriously? Why didn't I do that over a year ago when Ryan and I both said how nasty they were getting!

Phinley got a serious lecture about wiping his paws before coming in the house and never having another accident for the rest of his little doggie life or else there would be consequences {big ones.}

And he complied.

Right, Phinley? Hey....
Over here. Good dog.

It's like the carpets have been vacuumed to the MAX!

So after the carpets were cleaned, I was inspired to do a little clean up of my own...on my hair!

I had an appointment already set to get a color and trim, but while I was sitting in the chair looking at hair styles I thought....I should just go short. Just do it {right?}

So I did.

I went back and forth for a while trying to decide what I really wanted to do, but then I just had Tara do it!

I've been saying for a while I wanted to go short and although I'm still a little nervous about it, it's done and I like it!

Just getting used to it and figuring out how to style it!

The good news is that Ryan and Phinley both still recognized me!

Your carpets and hair both look so good! I'm sure Phinley will be a good dog and not mark up the fresh carpets. :o) Does Ryan like the new 'do? I showed Drew and he was very impressed with your bravery to cut so much off at once. I might be inspired!

Thanks Emily! If you're thinking of getting your haircut, you should do it! Like you said, it's just hair! I think this will be easy to manage...I hope anyways! I just needed a change so bad :0)

Drew is funny. I wouldn't call it bravery, more like craziness! Ryan is getting used to it. He liked it long and blonde {hahahaha}...it was getting so boring though!
