accessory deals!

If you've ever gone shopping at a cell phone store and bought new phones you know that they're going to try and sell you cases, clips, chargers, batteries, screen protectors....all the "must have" accessories.

A few years ago, when I bought my blackberry, we got roped into buying the accessory package. The way it was presented, it sounded like all the things were included with the phone -- wrong! When we got home we looked over our receipt again and everything was itemized so we high tailed it back and returned all those little things we just needed to have with the phone.

We learned a lesson from that experience, so in the car, on the way to Verizon, I made it crystal clear that the only thing we were getting was a new cell phone. That's all. Nothing more. Unless it was FREE...if it wasn't FREE then we're saying "no, thank-you."

See, if you look online for all those accessories they try to sell you in the store you can find them for SO MUCH CHEAPER. It's really amazing.

Anyways, I'll come back to that.

So we're checking out and {of course} the man tries to get us to buy the accessory package for 20% off. We say "no thank-you," because it wasn't FREE and we were sticking with our original plan.

THEN another woman {who's been absent through this whole buying ordeal} comes up and says something along the lines of "you know you have over $500 dollars worth of phones you need to protect here? Are you sure you don't want some kind of protection?"

My intial thought was "if they're worth that much, then why are you give us such a great deal??" but I didn't ask questions -- I just looked her straight in the eyes and said "no" minus the thank-you, plus a little attitude, because, well, we already said "no thank-you" and she was making me mad by pushing over priced accessories at us and implying that we didn't know what we were doing!!

When we got in the car we quickly used our fancy dancy over $500 worth of phones to look up cheaper prices for all the protection we could possibly need and guess what we found?

--1 very cute hot pink plaid and brown hard case cover for me

--2x rapid car chargers

--1 black silicon case cover

--1 USB data charge sync cable

--4 LCD screen protectors

All for a whopping $20.91 {shipping inc.} That was the going price of 1 case cover.

Now, don't get me wrong, sometimes you can only find what you need at the store or just need it that day! That's okay! Honestly, I've been holding my breath the last couple of days everytime I pick up my phone because it's completely naked and needs some protection ASAP! We just decided that's something we're willing to risk and hold out for another 2 days until our shipment comes in.
