m&j baby shower

Tired of hearing about Mexico? Yeah, I thought we could all use a little break!

We were home for 3 days, then headed to Ryan's hometown in NJ for Jason & Marissa's baby shower!

Remember when I announced the BIG NEWS! Well, we were finally able to shower them with cute baby gifts!

Marissa's mom, Crystal {her best friend}, and Lynn {Jason's mom} put the shower together for her. Since Jason and Marissa are currently living in CA it was a treat to see them and have a little Noah's Ark/animal themed party :0)!

I'm rotten and forgot my camera, I can't believe I don't have any pictures of the shower to show you!! I did manage to find this one Marissa posted several weeks ago of her baby bump. She's super cute and has a tiny baby bump {except in this picture it looks much bigger than it does in person!}.
I can imagine traveling from CA, then having a shower at noon the next day must have been exhausting {!}, but she didn't act like it. I can't wait to meet their son in June! My guess is that he's going to have dark brown eyes and hair...just like Marissa!

After the shower, Ryan, Phinley, and I headed over to Darren and Kasie's house. They live about 20mins away in a beautiful new home. Kasie has it decorated really nicely and was gracious enough to let Phinley and their dog, Sadie, run around like crazy dogs!

The last time Sadie and Phinley met, Phinley had only been with us for a few days, so we had no idea how he would react {he hadn't really met anyother dog before}, but since he's friends with every dog in the neighborhood now and really good friends with his puppy K pals, we couldn't wait to have them meet again!!

Well....they loved eachother!! It was so wonderful seeing them run and run and run, then kiss and play! haha They're first cousins, but they don't know that....they can kiss!!

Sadie is quite a bit smaller than Phinley -- see...she's tiny! Phinley sat on her a few times, but she's feisty and fought back!

They have a big yard with one of those electric invisible fences so Sadie can run around -- it's her territory out there. So Kasie was telling me at the shower that before she left she asked Darren to get Sadie from outside and of course, she was sitting in the one mud puddle they have in their yard {hehehe}. I laughed so hard when I heard that and then I got to see it first hand! Phinley was "getting busy" outside and Sadie was out with us running around until she found that darn puddle. She splashed around a bit, sat down, and then layed down....right in the mud!!!
Kasie and Darren have a great sense of humor so they just laughed {I probably would have been so annoyed! haha}. She's so little they just plopped her in the sink and gave her a bath until she was as good as new. It was just so hilarious seeing that little white dog laying in a puddle!
The whole family got to have dinner together on Sat. night and some free Rita's {peach mango yummm!}
We had a wonderful time! The weather was beautiful and it was so nice spending time with family!
