Progress and A Serious Case of the Itches

This weekend we were blessed to have one of Ryan's friends from NJ, Nate, come help Ryan out in the basement! They made some serious progress! Check out the pictures below (before reading the caption) to see if you can pick out what changes/progress has been made! Ryan's friend from work, also named Nate, let us use his truck to return all the drop ceiling materials we bought in exchange for dry wall. We think that a dry wall ceiling will look nicer and it costs a lot less! Go figure! I was more than happy to see the drop ceiling stuff in the garage go - it was taking up soooo much space!

Ryan and Nate getting the duct work ready before mounting.

The can lights work! There is some light from the sliding door shining also, but you get the idea!

Another view of the lights and all the wall insulation!! Did you notice the insulation in the last picture?

Hallway going back to the stairs. At the end of this hallway will be a closet for games and pantry items :) The lights are spaced perfectly!

Another picture of the lights :)

While the guys were sweating hard in the basement I returned 1of the 2 dresses I bought for the wedding, went grocery shopping, cleaned, did laundry, worked out, and had snacks :-) It was great! Of course, I checked on them every now and then to see if they needed anything, but they always seemed to have everything under control!

So when I was out shopping my legs started to itch so so so bad....I thought I was going to lose my mind. It felt like little sharp edges were lightly touching my skin. The first thing I thought of was the insulation that Ryan had been installing, moving, uninstalling all week in the basement. At one point he came up the basement steps covered in insulation and through his hands in the air because he was happy to be finished for the day at which point little particles flew everywhere. He didn't notice, but I did. I was itchy just from seeing that, but not like I was when I was shopping. I even told one of the cashiers that I had a serious case of the itches and must just have dry skin. I always have dry skin and it doesn't itch like that did, or feel like that. So later that night I told Ryan I thought when my pants were hanging up to dry he must have taken off one of his insulation installing shirts and got insulation on my nice clean pants!! He wasn't sure about that, but suggested that his insulation shirt might have gotten washed with them....that was it!!! I did wash them together...honestly, I never even thought about it! I knew I wasn't crazy for thinking it was insulation. So now all the clothes that were washed with that darn shirt will probably give me the itches. Great. Anyways - Ryan has a separate pile of "basement work clothes" that he keeps next to the 2 laundry baskets. This will not happen again.

Tonight I made a ton of sugar cookies, shaped like Easter things (flower, bunny, eggs, etc.), for small group on Wednesday. I don't bake too too often because I end up eating so much while I'm baking. I just can't help myself! haha I rarely bake sweet things for just Ryan and I because we definitely can't and simply shouldn't eat a whole box of brownies, cookies, etc. on our own, so I get excited to do so for small group!

I hope you all had a great weekend! God bless!

Wow, thanks for all of the pics! I love to follow your blog- really makes me have some idea of what is going on in your lives. I love the tv and stand and the new work done in the basement. Did Ryan get itchy too? He must be covered in insulation particles.

When I was writing the blog I already had the cookies wrapped up and ready for Wednesday night Small Group! I wrapped them really really good so they don't get stale. I actually thought about pictures, but the idea of unwrapping them seemed like a waste! If you're lucky....I'll take some before they get eaten on Wed. I even color icing for the tops of them. It was a mess - icing was everywhere!!!
