it's a twister, it's a twister

Going to Oz would have definitely added a little something special to our trip in NC last weekend, but thankfully we just missed our ride.

My Mom and I had been running errands Saturday morning/early afternoon and knew the strong storms would be approaching early evening. We planned to head home right after a late lunch, but needed to make just one more stop.

It didn't take long after we were in the store for it to start raining, then pouring, and then for us to decide we needed to get home.

Good thing we left when we did, because there were tornadoes touching down all over the place right where we were!

Luckily, we were driving toward the lighter clouds and away from the green/grey {eerily creepy} clouds, but not before we were hit with hail, heavy rain, and no traffic lights!

My mom did an amazing job driving -- I just prayed.

As we got on one road, we got a call from my Dad. He asked where we were, then told us to get out of there and come home right away....we were trying!!

Later we found out there was a tornado touch down right in that area!

God was looking out for us!
