Happy 1st Birthday Cohen!
This Saturday, Ryan and I got to celebrate Cohen's {the son of a couple from our small group} very first birthday -- how exciting! You only turn one once :0)
He had a very cute outdoor monkey themed party. Neal and Lydia rented a pavilion at a local park for the day so people could come and go as they wanted. It was scorching hot warm and very sunny the whole afternoon, which was perfect for the kids who wanted to swim in the creek and the adults who wanted to work on their tan.
Here's the birthday boy with his special monkey ballon!
These were the centerpieces -- stuffed monkeys with ballons tied to bunches of bananas. I love the banana idea!

A lot of other friends from small group were there too -- perfect for some games of cornhole. Did you know Stutz {on the right} used to be a part of the National Cornhole Association? He's intense.

Friends from small group; Mike, Stutz, Erin, and Karen. The last three are completing a triatholon at the beginning of June!!

We also had lunch, which was delicious! I had homemade chicken salad - Yum!
Look at all this food!

After lunch it was singing time! Cohen looked a bit stunned when everyone gathered around him and started singing. Notice the number 1 on his left hand? He held it up there through the whole song!

It didn't take him long to indulge in his sweet treat!

It didn't take me long either...that's why I didn't get a picture of the cute monkey cupcakes Lydia and her mom made!
The rest of the afternoon we just talked, hung out, threw the football around, and attempted ladder golf.

We had a great day! It was a little warm for the first day of May, but we survived!!

Thanks for having us!
