cone head

Phinley had a pretty big day yesterday.

He had his manhood taken away...forever.

I told him as we entered the vet that any manhood he wanted to keep he better leave it at the door to pick up on the way out, because they were going to take. it. all. once he got in there!

He was such a trooper. I honestly think he didn't mind at all because he got so much attention from all the pretty ladies at the vet. He loooooves attention -- who cares about his manhood!

It wasn't until he got home and had a cone strapped to his head that reality hit -- you're no longer in anesthesia heaven little Phinley.

When I first put him down in the kitchen he stood and stared at me for a long time. It was like he was thinking "I can't believe you did this to me."

Sorry Phinley, Ryan made me do it {hehe, he believes everything I tell him}.

It was probably best he didn't move around a lot at first because his cone kept hitting stuff. He kept knocking me in the legs trying to stay close. hahaha Ryan and I just couldn't stop laughing at him!

It's basically impossible for him to sniff anything, which I can imagine is horribly frustrating being that's a dogs number one priority in life...sniff everything!!

Getting busy outside has been a real frustration {for both parties} too, because when he puts his head down to sniff for his perfect spot his cone gets caught in the snow. He just ends up flinging snow everywhere and filling his cone.

Maybe I should get some meat marinade to squirt in there so he has a personal snow cone. hehe

Here he is after he just got home. He was falling asleep with his head resting on my hand like that :0)

This morning he was a little better and managed to get up on the sofa for a short siesta. I knew his plastic necklace wouldn't hold him back from his most desirable pleasures in life...the sofa.
