I was walking through Target today, just browsing and I felt like I was getting a glimpse into my future.
There was this child (I swear he followed me from the mall) that was screaming at the top of his lungs. I heard him from the whole other side of the store and as I neared I could hear his Mom (in her best puppy voice) saying
"Ohhh, someone's not happy are they? Are you in a bad mood? Yes, you're not very happy."
All the while slowly cruising through the aisle looking at this and that.
Seriously?
I don't know what was wrong, but even she knew it was something. Now I don't have kids, but when they are screaming and throwing a fit at 11:30am couldn't that mean they need to eat and take a nap?
Just a thought. I'm no expert.
Anyways...after I quickly scooted away, I saw the cutest old couple working their way down the center isle. They were going past the little doggie Santa outfits when the woman stopped to pick one up for their little pooch. Clearly they loved their dog - they wanted it to be decked out in a fancy pink Santa outfit for the Holidays.
Ryan and I will be parents one day. Will I force my child through Target at meal time when they are unhappy? Yes, at some point, most likely.
Ryan and I will be dog owners one day (hopefully soon). Will I buy them silly outfits and force them to wear them just because I can? Yes, absolutely.
Good grief.
Granted, there is a big time gap between screaming kids and elderly dog lovers, but the way time flys by these days I can expect to be there before I know it.
